A Note About Pottery Wheel Creations
Our pottery wheel classes are designed as a hands-on introduction to the art of throwing clay. While most participants create 1–2 pieces, the primary goal of the class is to learn, experiment, and enjoy the process of developing a new skill.
As with all ceramic work, there is a small risk that pieces may crack, warp, or not survive the drying, glazing, or kiln-firing process. Clay can be unpredictable, and factors such as moisture levels, compression, wall thickness, and trapped air can occasionally lead to kiln casualties—even for experienced potters.
While over 95% of pieces successfully make it through firing, finished pieces cannot be guaranteed. In the rare event that all of your pottery is lost during the process, we will provide a partial studio credit that can be used toward a pottery painting project from our shelves or applied to a future clay class so you can continue practicing your new skills.
We encourage guests to view their finished pieces as a wonderful bonus to the experience—the real magic is getting your hands in the clay, learning something new, and discovering the joy of creating.
